Family Provision Conversation
Families often reach the week of a funeral with three memories of what was promised and no single list of what exists. This conversation happens earlier, while the people who must live with the result can still sit in one room.
Who it is for
Adults sharing responsibility for a parent's house, or anyone who wants their own house, gold, and plots described for their children.
What you leave with
A written inventory and a page that separates decisions the family can settle by agreement from documents a lawyer must draft.
Two meetings at the Ban Phru office. The people who will have to live with the result are asked to attend the second meeting.
Included
- An inventory of the house, gold, plots, savings, and debts you are willing to name
- A page that marks what a lawyer must draft and what the family can agree in the room
- Time in the second meeting for a spouse or siblings to hear the same facts
Outside this sitting
- Drafting wills, powers of attorney, or land transfers
- Taking a side in a lawsuit
- A formal valuation of gold or land for a court
How the time unfolds
-
01
What exists
We write the house, the plots, the gold, the savings book, and the debts. Memories of promises are kept in a separate column from documents you can hold.
-
02
Who must hear it
The second meeting is for the people who will live with the list. You take that list to a lawyer of your choosing when you are ready.
What to bring
Bring house papers, plot papers, savings books, and a note of debts. Gold can be described without being brought to the office if you would rather keep it at home.
Limits we keep
We will not hold the meeting as a surprise for a relative. Everyone invited to the second sitting is told the purpose in advance. If a dispute is already in court, we stop and leave it with your lawyer.
The fee
A fixed fee for one household's inventory. Extra meetings for relatives who cannot attend the second sitting are quoted separately. From 7,500 THB for two meetings and the written inventory. The deposit is 40 percent. If a second visit is needed because a sibling lives outside the district, travel or an extra meeting is agreed before it is booked.
The full fee schedule explains deposits and what changes a quote.
